VIDEO: Subaru BRZ turbo kit that also fits the Scion FR-S

It was only a matter of time until someone released a turbo kit for the Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S with their 2.0L Boxer Engines. With this new turbo kit, the Subaru BRZ makes an impressive 278 wheel horsepower at only 10 psi of boost on an otherwise stock engine.

Max power this kit made was 286 horsepower, but the tuner turned it down a bit to settle at a reliable 278 horsepower.

Price of the kit is a reasonable $5,000. This and other upcoming turbo kits should be very popular since Subaru has announced that future versions such as the BRZ STi will not come with a turbo.

We’re excited to see if there will be a smog legal turbo kit eventually that will pass CARB and allow Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S enthusiasts the ability to make great power over stock without having to worry about any smog issues.

With an exhaust, and other mods, the car can do even better power wise. There will also be a larger turbo offered with additional tuning software to make even more power.
